Die Idee zu der Coin stammt von [[Cache-Corner]]. Die Vorderseite der Coin zeigt das Piraten Schiff "Golden Hint", während die Rückseite der Coin eine Flasche Rum zeigt. 

[[Cache-Corner]] schreibt zu der Coin: 
Immer wieder hört man Geschichten um den mysteriösen Piraten Fridtjof van Haudegen. Zusammen mit der Crew der Golden Hint segelt er durch die sieben Weltmeere und verbreitet nicht nur Angst und Schrecken. Auf ihren Reisen genießen sie so manche Sonnenuntergänge auf hoher See, singen dabei Shantys des drunken Sailors und genießen den Rum aus den erbeuteten Rumfässern des berüchtigten Piratenkapitän Morgan. Um ihre erbeuteten Schätze in Sicherheit zu bringen laufen sie das eine oder andere Mal den sicheren Zufluchtsort Tortuga Bay an. Hier genießen sie auch die Ruhe vor weiteren Abenteuern. So seien diese Coins dem mysteriösen Fridtjof van Haudegen gewidmet.

Die Grundidee und -design des Patchwork Dragons stammt vom JP Barr ([[JP's Geodesigns]]). Im Juni 2014 gab JP Barr bekannt, 
dass er zusammen mit Fredrik Wellner [[Geocoins Wellner]], einen Batch "The Patchwork Dragon" Geocoins 
herausgeben wird und jeder Interessent eine persönliche Edition erwerben kann.

Anfang Juli wurden die ersten Probe-Prägungen veröffentlicht, hierbei wurde dann gleich eine zweite Variante der Rückseite 
vorgestellt. Bei der Rückseitenvariante A ist der Schriftzug "The Patchwork Dragon" tiefer abgesetzt, 
wodurch dieser bei nicht-transparenten Farben unsichtbar wird. Bei Variante B ist der Schriftzug höher und leicht verändert.

Deadline für den 1. Batch war der 4. August 2014. Ende September 2014 waren die Drachen fertig und die ersten 
privaten Editionen wurden verschickt, jedoch erblickten sie erst auf dem Geocoinfest Europa 2014 in Ulm das Licht der Öffentlichkeit. 
Für Ulm gab es eigens einen Patchwork Dragon von JP Barr, der auf 50/LE limitiert ist (Edition H).

Des Weitern wurde in Ulm auch der zweite und finale Batch angekündigt. Deadline war der 15. November 2014. 
Wegen der hohen Nachfrage wird der 2. Batch voraussichtlich erst Anfang 2015 fertig. 

Am 20. November 2014 wurde auf JP Barr facebook-Seite bekannt gegeben, dass es eine Weihnachts-Sonderedition des Patchwork Dragons gibt. 
Bei der Weihnachtsedition wurde statt der normale eingelassene Blumen- und Sternenmuster eine weihnachtlicheres Muster gewählt, 
welches aus Geschenken, Schneeflocken und Glocken besteht. 
Bei dieser Sonderpressung wurden auch die 2 Editionen (2G und 2AO) der Batch 2 vorab fertig gestellt, und ab November 2014 herausgegeben. 

Am 04. Januar 2015 wurde bekannt gegeben, dass die zweite Batch der Patchwork Drachen fertig ist und demnächst verschickt wird. 

Zum Giga Event im Mainz 16-20.05.2015 wurden noch zwei weiteren Editionen herausgegeben.

Das Design der Seahorse Pendant Geocoin stammt von [[Christopher Waddell]]. Die Vorderseite wie auch Rückseite 
zeigt ein Seepferdchen. Die Coin war Gegenstand eines Wettbewerbes auf Facebook. Jeder war aufgerufen eine 
eigenes Design einzureichen. Aus den eingereichten Designs wurden von [[Christopher Waddell]] drei Gewinner 
ausgewählt, deren Design zusammen mit den anderen Designs gemünzt worden sind. 
[[Christopher Waddell]] schrieb zu der Coin: 
Die Coin ist 5.1 cm groß, 3 mm dick und besticht durch seinen detaillierten metal design unter dem Enamel. 
Eine Kombination aus Geometrie und symmetrische Mustern, zusammen mit verschiedenen Paisley Designs. Die 
Coins werden mit einen Loch an die Oberseite der Coin ausgeliefert, so dass sie auch als Kettenanhänger 
oder als Schlüsselbundanhänger verwendet werden können.

The Seahorse Pendant Geocoin was designed and minted by [[Christopher Waddell]]. The Front and back of the 
coin shows a seahorse. The coin was part of a cointest on Facebook. Everybody was called to upload an 
own design. Three winner designs were chosen by [[Christopher Waddell]] and minted together with the other 
designed coins. 
[[Christopher Waddell]] wrote to the coin: 
These coins will measure 2 inches tall, 3 mm thick and feature textured metal designs under the enamel 
a mix of geometric/symmetrical patterns, along with some paisley designs. They will also have a small 
hole at the top so they can be turned into pendants or be used on keyrings.

volle Lore über die Gleise schiebt. Die Seite der Lore ziert das bekannte Symbol des Bergbaus "Schlägel und Eisen". 
Die Rückseite der Coin zeigt die Arbeitsszenerie im Innern eines Bergwerkes, umrahmt von dem Felsen des Berges.

Seit einigen Jahren gibt es in den Niederlanden jährlich ein Designwettbewerb zur Gestaltung der Dutch Geocoin. Jeder ist aufgerufen eine oder mehrere Geocoin Designs einzureichen, von denen am Ende ein Entwurf ausgewählt und produziert wird. 
Auch im Jahr 2019 gab es viele Entwürfe, wobei der Designentwurf von [[Geo-Dragonchild]] sich gegenüber den anderen eingereichten Entwürfen durchgesetzt hat. 
Der Entwurf für diese Coin ist eine Hommage an das 15 jährige Jubiläum der Dutch Geocoin. Die Vorderseite zeigt einen Ausschnitt des '''[https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wappen_der_Niederlande königlichen Wappens der Niederlande]''' mit der Gösch (Bugflagge) der Niederländischen Marine im Hintergrund. Umrahmt wird das Bild mit dem Schriftzug "DUTCH GEOCOIN 2019" sowie dem Leitspruch "JE MAINTIENDRAI" (Ich werde erhalten). Die Rückseite der Coin wurde in 15 Teilabschnitte unterteilt und sie zeigt im jedem Segment ein Teilmotiv der bisher veröffentlichen Dutch Geocoins. Umrahmt wird die Coin von dem Schriftzug "15 JAAR DUTCH GEOCOINS" und dem Discover Code.BR>

Several design were submitted in 2019. In the end the design of [[Geo-Dragonchild]] was chosen. 
The design for the Dutch Geocoin 2019 commemorates the 15 year anniversary of the Dutch Geocoin. The obverse side of the coin shows a cutout from the '''[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_of_the_Netherlands coat of arms of the Netherlands]''' including the Dutch navel jack in the background. The picture is surrounded by the lettering "DUTCH GEOCOIN 2019" and "JE MAINTIENDRAI" (I shall maintain). The reverse side of the coin shows a cut-out of each of the 15 minted Dutch Geocoins. Seit einigen Jahren gibt es in den Niederlanden jährlich ein Designwettbewerb zur Gestaltung der Dutch Geocoin. 
Jeder ist aufgerufen eine oder mehrere Geocoin Designs einzureichen, von denen am Ende ein Entwurf ausgewählt 
und produziert wird.

Auch im Jahr 2014 gab es viele interessante Entwürfe, wobei sich der Geocoin Designentwurf von [[Ogima]] gegenüber 
den anderen eingereichten Dutch Geocoin Entwürfen durchgesetzt hat.

[[Ogima]]'s Entwurf basiert auf dem silbernen Wilhelmina Guilder aus dem Jahre 1914, welcher die Grundlage für seinen Designentwurf bildete. Neben dem "Dutch Geocoin 2014" Schriftzug wurde ein GPS Gerät sowie als [[Ogima]]'s persönliches Markenzeichen ein kleiner Drachen in seinem Dutch Geocoin Designentwurf eingearbeitet. Die Vorderseite der Geocoin 
zeigt den niederländischen Gulden-Wappenlöwen, die Rückseite des Bildes der Niederländischen Königin Wilhelmina. 
Zusätzlich wurde der obligatorische Satz "track this geocoin at geocaching.com" leicht abgewandelt und durch den 
Satz "track this guilder at geocaching.com" ersetzt. Guilder ist Alt-Niederländisch und bedeutet nichts anderes als ein Niederländischer Gulden.

Als kleine Überraschung befindet sich auf dem Seitenrand der Geocoin zusätzlich noch 
die Aufschrift: * IN * GEOCOINS * WE * TRUST * was durchaus einen der Leitsätze der S.S.o.C.A. hätte sein können.

In Zusammenarbeit mit [[woejam]] wurde der Entwurf von [[Ogima]] weiter verfeinert und die verschiedenen 
Versionen der neuen Dutch Geocoin abgestimmt.

Since several years there is an annual design competition for the configuration of the new annaul Dutch Geocoin. 
Everyone can submit one or more drafts of which one will be chosen and minted.

There were several interesting drafts submitted in 2014. In the end the draft of [[Ogima]] made it.

The idea for the draft from [[Ogima]] is based on the silver „Wilhelmina Guilder“ (Wilhelmina guilder) from the year 1914. 
The obverse shows the dutch gulden lion arms together with the lettering „Dutch Geocoin 2014“. 
Left of the lion the personal trade mark of [[Ogima]] (a small dragon) is visible and right of it a GPS device. 
The reverse shows the former dutch queen Wilhelmina. 
Additionally the compulsory sentence „track this geocoin at geocaching.com“ was slightly modified to „track this guilder at geocaching.com“. 
Guilder is the former name for the dutch gulden.

As an additional surprise the phrase „ * IN * GEOCOINS * WE * TRUST * “ can be found on the side of the coin. 
This could have been easily one of the guiding principle of the S.S.o.C.A.

Together with [[woejam]] [[Ogima]] refined the original draft and they adjusted the several editions.

Während der Planetary Pursuit Challenge von Groundspeak waren Geocacher von der ganzen Welt aufgerufen, um die Erde zu verlassen und sich auf die Jagd nach den Planeten unseren Sonnensystems zu machen. Zwischen den 19. März und den 15. April konnten hierbei alle Geocacher Punkte sammeln und bis zu zehn Souvenirs einsammeln, um ein offizieller Space Explorer zu werden. 
 
Während der Planetary Pursuit Challenge wurden zwei neue Trackable Sets von [[Shop Geocaching]] veröffentlicht. Dies ist zum einen das Planetary Pursuit Trackable Set und zum anderen das Solar System Trackable Set. Eine vollständige Übersicht ist in der unten aufgeführte Liste zu sehen. Im nachfolgenden Teil wird näher auf das Planetary Pursuit Trackable Set eingegangen, welches aus vier verschiedenen Trackables besteht. Zur Erinnerung an der Planetary Pursuit Challenge wurden eine Geocoin, eine Micro-Geocoin, einen Tag sowie einen Nano Charm entworfen und veräußert. Das Design wird hauptsächlich durch einen Astronauten mit Ammo Box sowie den verschiedenen Planeten unseren Sonnensystems bestimmt.

Between March the 19th and April the 15th geocachers were able to collect points to earn up to 10 new souvenirs and to become an official space explorer. 
 
Two new trackable sets were released by [[Shop Geocaching]] during the Planetary Pursuit Challenge. Next to the Planetary Pursuit Trackable Set the Solar System Trackable Set was released. A detailed overview of all the trackables is shown in the Planetary Pursuit Challenge list below. Während der Planetary Pursuit Challenge von Groundspeak waren Geocacher von der ganzen Welt aufgerufen, um die Erde zu verlassen und sich auf die Jagd nach den Planeten unseren Sonnensystems zu machen. Zwischen den 19. März und den 15. April konnten hierbei alle Geocacher Punkte sammeln und bis zu zehn Souvenirs einsammeln, um ein offizieller Space Explorer zu werden. 
 
Während der Planetary Pursuit Challenge wurden zwei neue Trackable Sets von [[Shop Geocaching]] veröffentlicht. Dies ist zum einen das Planetary Pursuit Trackable Set und zum anderen das Solar System Trackable Set. Eine vollständige Übersicht ist in der unten aufgeführte Liste zu sehen. Im nachfolgenden Teil wird näher auf das Planetary Pursuit Trackable Set eingegangen, welches aus vier verschiedenen Trackables besteht. Zur Erinnerung an der Planetary Pursuit Challenge wurden eine Geocoin, eine Micro-Geocoin, einen Tag sowie einen Nano Charm entworfen und veräußert. Das Design wird hauptsächlich durch einen Astronauten mit Ammo Box sowie den verschiedenen Planeten unseren Sonnensystems bestimmt.

Between March the 19th and April the 15th geocachers were able to collect points to earn up to 10 new souvenirs and to become an official space explorer.
