Norwegian Vikings Geocoin is a big geocoin with Vikings theme.

The coin was made after an idea to create a larger coin than usual.
Found out that this would be a special project that would require interest from more countries than Norway, but still be a Norwegian coin.

The choice fell upon Vikings.

After 6 months with 8 proposals, this was the final design.

The text "never get lost" it is not only Viking who appreciate. This should fit well for us geocachers too.

This is the first in a series Coin, it will get 4 smaller coins with Viking motives.

The Great Ax Geocoin ist die zweite Coin der Serie "Norwegian Vikings".

"Ich wollte eine Coin designen, die typisch für Norwegen ist und die aber auch für andere Sammler aus verschiedenen Teilen der Welt attraktiv sein sollte. Die Wahl fiel auf die Wikinger. Nach einigen Besuchen im Wikinger Museum und vielen Stunden Internet-Recherche, wurden einige Vorschläge ausgearbeitet. Bilder wurden schnell zugeschnitten, kopiert, so kamen verschieden Wiking Coins ans Tageslicht. Sie werden alle Teil einer Serie zum Thema Wikinger werden.

Die Haupt-Coin ist die mit dem Wikingerschiff.

Die zweite Coin ist eine 3-D Kampfaxt.

Danach wird es noch eine Serie mit Wikinger-Coins in normaler Größe geben. Sie werden unterschiedliche Wikinger-Motive tragen."

"I would make a coin that was typical for Norway, while would attract collectors from felre parts of the world. Choice fell upon the Vikings. After several visits to the Viking Museum, and many hours of internet search was set up part suggestions.
Images were quickly cut to, pasted and several viking Coiner threaded forward in the light of day.

It all will be a series of coins with Vikings theme. Main coin is the major with the Viking ship. This is No. 2 and a 3D coin of a combat ax.

The Great Ax Geocoin ist die zweite Coin der Serie "Norwegian Vikings".

"Ich wollte eine Coin designen, die typisch für Norwegen ist und die aber auch für andere Sammler aus verschiedenen Teilen der Welt attraktiv sein sollte. Die Wahl fiel auf die Wikinger. Nach einigen Besuchen im Wikinger Museum und vielen Stunden Internet-Recherche, wurden einige Vorschläge ausgearbeitet. Bilder wurden schnell zugeschnitten, kopiert, so kamen verschieden Wiking Coins ans Tageslicht. Sie werden alle Teil einer Serie zum Thema Wikinger werden.

Die Haupt-Coin ist die mit dem Wikingerschiff.

Die zweite Coin ist eine 3-D Kampfaxt.

Danach wird es noch eine Serie mit Wikinger-Coins in normaler Größe geben. Sie werden unterschiedliche Wikinger-Motive tragen."

It all will be a series of coins with Vikings theme. Main coin is the major with the Viking ship. This is No. 2 and a 3D coin of a combat ax.
