Dies ist der 8. Teil der 12-teiligen Serie rund um die Griechische Mythologie und griechische Gottheiten. Designed wurde die Serie vom bekannten Geocoin Designer Chris Mackey.

Teil 8: Heracles

Notizen des Designer, Chris Mackey: <br>
Hier ist der nächste in der Reihe und ist sicher ein Favorit als einer der berüchtigsten und bekanntesten griechischen Figuren. Herakles (oder auch Herkules), der halb menschliche Sohn des Zeus, der die 12 Heldentaten überwinden musste, die ihm seine Stiefmutter in blinder Eifersucht über die Untreue seines Vaters mit einem Menschen in den Weg gelegt hatte.

Auf der Vorderseite haben wir unseren Helden umgeben mit dem Kopf (Köpfen) der Hydra, dem geschichtsträchtigsten von all seinen Herausforderungen und auf der Rückseite alle seine 12 Herausforderungen, die er bestehen musste, bevor ihn seine zweite Frau in den Feuertod trieb (das ihn glücklicher Weise in den Olymp aufstiegen und zu einem vollwertigen Gott werden ließ). Sein persönliches Symbol, der Knoten der Stärke, zentriert und umgeben durch das Symbol seines Vaters Zeus, dargestellt wird seine Unsterblichkeit links und sein Olivenzweig-Knüppel (seine übliche Waffe) rechts davon.

Part 8: Heracles

Notes from the designer, Chris Mackey: <br>
Here's the next one in the series and sure to be a favorite as one of the most infamous and noted Greek figures. Heracles, the half-human son of Zeus who must overcome the 12 Feats set forth by his step-mother in a jealous rage over his father's infidelity with a human.

On the face side we have our hero surrounded by the head(s) of the hydra in the most historically portrayed of all his challenges and on the reverse side the full 12 challenges he will overcome before being tragically burned alive by his second wife (which luckily transforms him into a full Olympian god in the end). His personal symbol, the knot of strength, is centered and bracketed about by the symbol of his father Zeus, portraying his immortality on the left and his olive branch club (his usual weapon) to the right.
