The Flying Fortress Geocoin was a project by geocoin4you.com for an event at a mystery cache in Czech Republic. GC1M2ZX Pad americke letajici pevnosti B-17/Crash of B-17
There have been a long thought about the design of the Flying Fortress Geocoin. Ideas about the appearance of wrecked machine, about the shape of the flying fortress (B-17) and the coin layout.
Finally geocoin4you.com chose a classical round shape through which the plastic 3D B-17 fly through. The fortress step out from the altimeter, which marks the edge of the backgroung. The texture under the plane symbolises the sky. The backside reminds about the B-17 crash site in Slaný (Czech Republic).
Four different editions have been made. A RE version which is going to be on sale even after the end of the event. A LE which contains 50 pieces, a XLE with 20 pieces and a donor edition which could only be obtained in the set, by supporting the project.
