Rusty hat ein kleines 3D Meisterstück mit dieser Coin erschaffen. Sie ist sehr Detailreich, selbst am Zahnrand erkennt man die umlaufenden Zahnkerben.

Haifischzähne (auch nur Haizähne genannt) sind die häufigsten fossile Funde von Haien, die über Jahrmillionen erhalten geblieben sind.
Es sind Fundorte in der ganzen Welt bekannt, die wichtigsten liegen in Florida, Marokko und in der Atacamawüste in Chile.
Ein weiterer bekannter Fundort für fossile Hai- und Rochenzähne ist Cadzand, ein Ort im äußersten Südwesten der Niederlande.
In Marokko werden zwischen 3 und 70 Millionen Jahren alte Haizähne in Khouribga beim „Plateau des Phosphates“ ausgegraben.

Haizähne bestehen aus eine Krone mit Wurzel. Die Haizahn-Wurzel unterscheidet sich jedoch von der Zahnwurzel der Säugetiere, denn sie ist nicht im Kieferknorpel eingebettet.
Vielmehr sind die Zähne mittels Bindegewebsfasern in der Haut fest verankert.

Über die Lebensdauer von Haizähnen ist man sich noch nicht ganz im Klaren. Man vermutet, dass sie alle acht bis fünfzehn Tage ersetzt werden,
wobei dies bei den verschiedenen Haiarten jeweils anders ist. Dies ist der Grund, wieso es soviele fossile Haizähne gibt.

This is a little 3D spincast masterpiece that Rusty arranged. It's fully detailed on the edges as the teeth serration wraps 360 degrees.

Teeth are the most frequent fossil remains of sharks which has been preserved for millions of years.
They are found worldwide. Important localities can be found in Florida, Morocco and the Atacama Desert in Chile.
Another famous locality for fossil sharks and ray teeth is found in the most Southwest of the Netherlands, in Cadzand.
In Khouribga (Morocco) near the „Plateau des Phosphates“ 3 to 70 million year old fossil sharks teeth are found.

Shark teeth consists of a crown and a fang. A shark fang differs from a mammal tooth root because it isn't imbedded in the jaw.
Instead it's fixed onto the skin with a kind of connective tissue fiber.

Presently it's not really clear how long a cycle of shark teeth takes. It's presumed that they are replaced every eight to fifteen days,
allthough it may differ between the shark species. This is the reason why so many fossil shark teeth are present.
