Beschreibung
Zum zwölften Mal in Folge fand am 1. November 2014 das FAD MEGA Event in Schweden statt. Austragungsort des FAD 2014
MEGA Events war Hässleholm, im Bundesland Skåne, Schweden. Die Idee zu diesem Event stammt von dem Geocacher "Hedberg"
und wurde innerhalb von wenigen Jahren zu Schwedens größtem MEGA-Event. Beim FAD MEGA Event dreht sich alles ums
Geocachen in der Dunkelheit. Dies ist auch der Grund, warum das FAD MEGA Event jedes Jahr in der dunklen Jahreszeit
stattfindet. Nach Sonnenuntergang, gegen 17-18 Uhr, werden die Geocaches rund um das MEGA Event veröffentlicht und
die Teilnehmer in die Nacht entlassen. Bis 22 Uhr haben sie dann Zeit, die Geocaches rund um das MEGA Event zu suchen.
Anschließend wird ein Teil der Geocaches wieder eingesammelt, während der andere Teil dauerhaft liegen bleibt.
Die Mega Sweden FAD 2014 Geocoin wurde auf Anfrage von den Organisatoren des MEGA Events durch I. Engström aka DracoLupus
entworfen. Der Umriss der Geocoin ist nicht rund, sondern ist dem Umriss des Bundeslandes Skåne nachempfunden. Die
Vorderseite der Geocoin zeigt vier Geocaching Icons sowie das diesjährige Datum "1 NOVEMBER" und den Veranstaltungsort
"HÄSSLEHOLM SWEDEN". Die Rückseite zeigt eine Taschenlampe, deren Lichtstrahl einen Geocache im Dunklen erhellt, wobei
der Lichtstrahl aus nachleuchtendem Material gefertigt worden ist. Zusätzlich befinden sich auf der Rückseite der Geocoin
die Schriftzüge "FAD 2014 MEGA SWEDEN GC4XBA9" sowie "Track at Geoccaching.com".

On the first November 2014 the 12.th FAD MEGA event was held in Sweden. This time the FAD MEGA event was in Hässleholm,
which lies in the state Skåne, Sweden. The idea for the first FAD Event came from a geocacher named "Hedberg" who is in a
manner of speaking the "father" of this event. Over the years FAD has become a MEGA event and the largest event in Sweden.
The main focus is on night caching. For this reason the MEGA Event is held usually during the late autumn. After sunset,
around 5 to 6 pm, several FAD MEGA event geocaches are released and the participants of the FAD start with the stash hunt.
Barely equipped with a torch light and a pen they go out in the cold and darkness to search for the new geocaches. The hunt
stoppes around 10 pm and the participants gather together, to socialize and to end the FAD MEGA event. Afterwards a part of
the geocaches is taken down while the other part of geocaches remains.
After a request from the organizers of the MEGA event I. Engström aka DracoLupus decided to design the new geocoin for the FAD
MEGA event 2014. The shape of the geocoin is not round, but it is formed like the outlines of the state of Skåne. The front of the
geocoin shows four geocaching icons as well as this year's date "1 NOVEMBER" and this year's venue "HÄSSLEHOLM SWEDEN".
The backside of the geocoin shows a torch whose light beam illuminates a geocache in the night. Remarkable is, that the light
beam has been made from phosphorescent material. Additionally you can find the words "FAD 2014 MEGA SWEDEN GC4XBA9"
and "Track at Geoccaching.com" on the backside of this geocoin.
