Dieser Geocoin wurde zum 15-jährigen Jubiläum (2015) von Groundspeak herausgebraucht.

Es war der 2. May 2000, als der "blauen Schalter" umgelegt wurden und das GPS System für die zivile Nutzung freigegeben wurde.
Dies führte zu den ersten Versteck, welches sich in den nächsten 15 Jahren zu einen tolles Spiel entwickelt hat, mit viele Entdeckungen und Abenteuer.

Dieser Versteck, welcher sich als erster Cache herausstellen sollte, wurde einen Tag nach der Freischaltung plaziert.
Zur Ehrung der Gedenktafel, der nun den ersten Versteck markiert, hat Avroair diese Gedenk-Geocoin entwurfen.

Diese limitierte "Flip the Switch" Geocoin (lege den Schalter um) ist ca. 50 x 50 mm groß, hat ein eigenes Icon und Trackingcode.
Sie zeigt auf der Rückseite das offizielle Geocaching Logo und das Datum an dem der Schalter betätigt wurde,
sowie auf der Vorderseite "a tribute to 15 Years of Geocaching"(zur Ehrung der 15 Jahren Geocachcing) mit 15 eingelassenen blauen Swarovski Steine.

Celebrate what made the great game of Geocaching possible, with the Limited Edition 15 Years of Geocaching Blue Switch Geocoin!

It was May 2nd 2000 when the "Blue Switch" was flipped by the United States government, allowing satellites to offer more accurate information to GPS units.
This inspired the first hide which led to the last 15 years of this amazing game of discovery, exploration and adventure!

What eventually became known as the first ever geocache was placed the next day, and this commemorative coin was designed
by our friend Avroair as a tribute to the plaque that now marks the Original Stash.

This limited edition "Flip the Switch" coin measures approximately 2 inches by 2 inches. It has a unique code and is trackable at geocaching.com.
The geocoin features the official Geocaching logo and the date of the flip on one side,
and a tribute to 15 Years of Geocaching and 15 blue Swarovski gemstones on the other.
